5 Top Tips To Help With Your Next Holiday
Let’s face it. We all live for holidays. If there’s anything that can light up someone’s face it is talking about his or her up and coming vacation.
So let’s rejoice in the wonder of planning a holiday with our 5 tops tips to help you plan your next adventure! #MakeHolidayHappen
1. Plan early and keep your eyes out for specials
Wherever your dream destination is, start looking now at airfares or travel mode costs. By having a certain timeframe in mind as to when you would like to go, will help you judge the best time to book.
Avoid school holidays as best you can, as this generally attracts higher fares. Generally the earlier you book, the cheaper the fare, so stop hesitating and just do it!
2. Be prepared for the worst
We all know that money is essential when travelling. We also know that bad things can happen such as pickpockets, bag snatching and ATM card machines that swallow your precious card!
Therefore you need to have a back up plan if something happens. Try not to keep all of your finances in one place, so separate credit cards and split up your cash. Make sure you don’t keep changing the hiding places as this can lead to forgetfulness, so try to have specific locations you always use.
When travelling in foreign countries always make sure you have some of their currency in small denominations for tips and small purchases.
3. Take our travel insurance
Yes, it is another expense we hate having, but if you take time out and research travel insurance you will understand why you should have it.
There have been some horrific situations travellers have got in, but thankfully their insurance has saved them.
Accidents, illnesses and lost property sadly can happen on holiday too, so make sure you cover yourself.
Wouldn’t you rather pay a few hundred on insurance and NOT have anything happen, than not get insurance and be faced with medical bills in the thousands?
4. Pack wisely
Here are some great tips…
- Roll up socks and stuff them in your shoes
- Leave some room for souvenirs and other purchases you make
- Make sure your contact details are located on your suitcase
- Roll clothes up, or pack them flat – each to their own!
- Make sure you have adapters for all your power cords/chargers
- Pack outfits that are versatile, can be layered and are easy to wash
5. Search for ticket coupons
If you have certain places you want to visit, such as shows, museums, amusement parks, zoos etc. then get online and do some searching.
You will be surprised at how many coupons or codes you can find to help reduce the standard cost of entry.
Don’t forget to keep your “online security awareness” switched on, so if a website is not secure, don’t go inputting your credit card details.
